Bowin Tichenor

When Bowin Tichenor was growing up in Centertown Kentucky, he was often told stories about his inventive great-grandfather, Raymond Dick Render, and the old blue bus that he turned into an operating cafe. Many years later Bowin would once again make the name of Blue Bus Cafe known, this time as a design and advertising agency devoted to helping businesses grow.

In addition to inheriting his grandfather’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit, Bowin leads Blue Bus Cafe with ten years of experience in the graphic design and advertising industry including a position at Louisville-based agency, Price Weber. In 2002, because of the overwhelming response to his creative work, Bowin left his position as Senior Graphic Designer at Southeast Christian Church to devote his full attention to Blue Bus Cafe.

Desiring more than just economic success and astounding popularity (although those are nice too), Bowin is mostly intentional about using his company’s talent as a tool to make a marked difference in his city and beyond.

He is also known in the office for his skills in serenading with the saxophone. And soon, he will probably be recognized all over the world as the creator of the fat-fighting fitness plan “Tae-Bowin.”

Of course, he wants everyone to know he wouldn’t be able to do any of this without his lovely wife Lindsey and his three adorable children, Jasper, Greta, and Auguste.

Ricky brings to the table many interrelated interests and skills. Of direct interest to Blue Bus Cafe, he has many years experience with the camera, associated light and composition, which he believes directly affects his attention to detail. Furthermore, he admits to spending all of his high school years in front of a computer, learning how to use the software tools of the trade to their maximum effectiveness within his ability.

He went to school at Louisville Technical Institute, finishing with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design in 2004, and has since worked as graphic designer for Louisville Metro Parks, in a print shop learning the ways of the printer, and is now producing artwork for the Internet and printed materials as a contractor for Blue Bus Cafe.

He is married to his beautiful wife, Marta, who is an art teacher. She teaches and inspires him regularly to always be learning. They visit the library often.
