Our friends over at The Nehemiah Group based out of Louisville KY asked us to redesign their website so we said, “Let’s gitter done!” Well, maybe we didn’t say exactly that, but I’m sure it was close. Anyway, The Nehemiah Group is your private Project Management and Real Estate Development Team providing services on a local, national and international landscape. They work with companies like Humana, Norton’s, Anthem and CVS just to name a few. They do great work and we were honored to be asked to build their new site. Check it out at thenehemiahgroup.com

The University of Louisville Downtown Arena site designed by Blue Bus Cafe!

That’s right. The folks down at the Cardinal Athletic Fund were so happy with the job we did on their site that they’ve asked us to design the website for the new downtown arena. We are so excited about this project and can’t wait to showcase it here.

Lighting His World Logo

Tyler Pelan is one of the best photographers in Louisville so when he asked us to design his logo, I felt pretty special. He wanted it to reflect his style of photography and I think we did that pretty well. Check out lightinghisworld.com to see some of his work.

Cardinal Red is the new black!

The new website for the Cardinal Athletic Fund is done and up-n-runnin’! Check out cardinalathleticfund.com to take a gander. This site was built to better inform folks interested in how the whole season ticket process works (it can be a little confusing) and guide them toward becoming a donor, which helps them get points, which helps them get better seats, which helps them see the game better, which makes them happy and makes them want to buy tickets next year, which helps the University, which helps Louisville Metro, which…basically makes the world a better place to live. It’s that easy!

Anyway, Lisa Crespo was a pleasure to work with and made the transition from their old site to the new one a breeze. Thanks again Lisa!

Blue Bus Cafe is Seeing Red

Posted by Bowin, April 15, 2008

OK…lame title I know, but I just couldn’t resist. Blue Bus Cafe has begun work on a project with the University of Louisville: Cardinal Athletics Fund. It’s a pro bono job, so maybe we’ll get some season tickets out of the deal. Hey, I’d be happy just to have time to go to one game.

Anyway, We’ll be working on revamping their current website. Our main focus will be the sites usability and user interface. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Back to the basics at Blue Bus Cafe

Posted by Bowin, March 18, 2008

It seems like we are are always tweeking and refining this old bus. We kind of lost sight of what made us a success in the first place and that was doing good design work. For a while there, we said, “hey, we’re making more money doing web work so, let’s focus on that.” Well, we all agree that when we did that our designs suffered overall. We were focused on the money and not making beautiful designs that connect with people. We became like a factory, churning out shiny garbage, and for that, I am sorry.

Anyway, we are going back to the basics. Projects might take a little longer, but they’ll be more effective and much more beautiful and that’s the way we like it.

CAL blogging home screen shot

Blue Bus Cafe has given Christian Academy School Systems a great new blogging tool. We designed the system using Wordpress MU (multi-user) and provided several templates for the teachers to choose from. Now the teachers can keep parents and students up-to-date on assignments and upcoming events. We really enjoyed working with the folks from Christian Academy and hope to work with them again soon.

preferredprosthodics.com

We recently designed preferredprosthodontics.com — a site for Louisville Prosthodontist Dr. John Anderson to coincide with the launch of his new practice. Preferred Prosthodontics was established to help patients who have complex cases in which restoration or replacement of teeth is required. Their goal is to help you obtain, keep and maintain a dentition that is comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing for the rest of your life. We used Wordpress as the CMS so that Dr. Anderson will be able to add images, case studies and video. It turned out pretty good.
